Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Officer to champion safety and compliance across our construction sites in the Parkersburg, Morgantown, north-central WV area. In this vital role, you will oversee safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to occupational health standards. Your expertise will help foster a safe working environment, minimize hazards, and promote a culture of safety excellence throughout all phases of construction projects.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead safety initiatives that protect our team members and uphold industry standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and industry best practices.
- Manage risk assessments and mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and injuries on construction sites.
- Lead safety training sessions for new hires and ongoing education for staff on construction management software features related to safety tracking.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses thoroughly, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure construction management processes prioritize occupational health and environmental health & safety (EHS).
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, workers' compensation claims, and compliance documentation.
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles and OSHA regulations specific to construction environments.
- Experience in occupational health practices within the construction industry.
- Ability to manage compliance with multiple safety standards including OSHA and local legal requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for conducting training sessions and safety briefings effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage construction site safety programs from planning through execution.

From $32.00 per hour
