Role Description

West Virginia University is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Dispatcher for a full‑time, on‑site position located in Morgantown, WV. The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching communications for appropriate services, monitoring and responding to incoming calls and emergency situations, and maintaining accurate records of incidents and radio traffic activity. The individual will interact with various departments and ensure timely responses to service requests, assisting in maintaining efficient operational procedures and public safety standards.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in coordinating communications and excellent multitasking abilities
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, particularly in time‑sensitive or emergency scenarios
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and addressing inquiries
  • Familiarity with operating communication equipment such as radios, telephone systems, and dispatch software
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation with attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional certifications relevant to dispatch or emergency response are advantageous
  • Prior experience in customer service, emergency communication, or related roles preferred
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure and adapt to dynamic situations
