The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) that serve 115 local feeder districts. An ATC is a state‑operated facility dedicated to offering four‑course Career and Technical Education pathways within CTE program areas identified by OCTE. We shape the future by preparing Kentucky’s students for tomorrow’s careers in collaboration with business and industry partners.
KDE supports the ATCs through guidance, resources, and oversight to ensure success for every student in the public education system. This position is advertised under KRS Chapter 156 OCTE. It is not subject to the provisions of KRS 18A for classified or unclassified service.
The Butler County Area Technology Center in Morgantown, KY seeks a Welding Instructor who is dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in students’ lives. This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic, challenging, and student‑focused environment.

EDUCATION: Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught; OR Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught; OR Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be within the last five years.

Applicant can be hired without the needed personal certifications but must acquire them at the next available testing period.
