Substitute Aides

Day-to-Day Substitute for the  School Year

Must be willing to work on an as needed basis.

• Tucker County Multiple Locations

• Must pass the WV State Competency Aide Classification Test
• Must pass a Background Check
• Must have or willing to obtain CPR & First Aide Certification
• May need to ride a bus
• Ability to lift and/or assist with student safety equipment
• Flexible schedule to accommodate bus time
• Must maintain a courteous and professional demeanor
• Follow behavior management approach to training sessions, and disruptive behavior
• You will be required to complete 3 days of classroom training and 1 day of wheelchair/harness training for school buses
• Other duties as assigned

• Substitute aides assist the teacher(s) with classroom activities
• To implement the instructional program including working directly with children in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
• To motivate students to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation, with each student's ability
• The aide assigned to a school bus assists with the supervision of student passengers on the bus, including securing student passengers in various types of safety restraints

WV Salary Scale for Substitute Personnel Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
