City Year seeks Ameri Corps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class academic and social-emotional support to students in partner public schools
• Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups in core subjects like math and English
• Monitor student progress, track data, and report outcomes to school and City Year staff
• Support classroom management and create a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Lead or assist with after-school programs and enrichment activities
• Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and families to encourage engagement
• Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions
• Collaborate with a diverse City Year team to plan and deliver student support
• Support school-wide events and initiatives that promote student success
• Model leadership, equity, and service-oriented values in daily work
