The WVU Career Center at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Student Employment Program Coordinator.
About the OpportunityThe Student Employment Program Coordinator manages and supports the University's Student Employment Program, providing training, guidance, and resources to faculty, staff, supervisors, and students. The position collaborates with campus stakeholders to strengthen the student employment experience and advance career readiness initiatives that help students develop and articulate transferable skills gained through on-campus employment.
The Student Employment Program Coordinator also coordinates outreach and data collection efforts for the University's First Destination Survey (FDS), working with students and campus partners to support participation and the collection of graduate outcomes information. Additionally, the position oversees the WVU Career Center's day-to-day front-office, business, financial, and administrative operations, including supervision of the student workforce supporting office operations.

WVU Student Employment Program
- Manage and coordinate the WVU Student Employment Program (Non-Federal Work-Study) across WVU campuses, including the vetting, review, approval, and posting of student employment opportunities in Handshake.
- Serve as a primary resource for and develop collaborative relationships with campus hiring managers, providing training, guidance, and support related to recruiting, hiring, onboarding, supervising, developing, and retaining student employees.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute student employment resources, guides, training materials, and the WVU Student Worker Handbook for supervisors and student employees to promote consistent practices and alignment with University policies and procedures.
- In collaboration with the Director and campus partners, develop and support career readiness initiatives, resources, and programming that help student employees develop, recognize, and articulate the transferable skills and career competencies gained through their campus employment experiences and apply them to future employment.
- Coordinate and support student employment programs, initiatives, and events, including the University's annual Summer Job Fair, Back-to-School Job Fair, and other student employment activities.
- Serve as a liaison to Student Financial Services to support coordination between Federal Work-Study (FWS) and Non-Federal Work-Study student employment processes, including ensuring accurate FWS eligibility information within Handshake and consistent communication with campus stakeholders.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with campus partners, hiring managers, and other stakeholders to identify student employment needs, strengthen program participation, and enhance student employment experience.
