They are seeking a Reservoir Data Analyst to join their technical team and serve as a key steward of subsurface and production data. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the datasets that drive reserves estimation, production forecasting, and performance optimization. This is a highly visible position that blends data management, analytical rigor, and visualization—ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex technical data into clear, actionable insights for engineers and leadership alike.
LocationHybrid position based in Morgantown, WV
, with an expectation of working onsite three days per week.
- Manage the full lifecycle of reservoir and production data, including acquisition, cleansing, validation, and integration from internal systems and external sources
- Build, maintain, and query reservoir databases and data structures using SQL and industry-standard tools such as Combo Curve, ARIES, and Spotfire
- Analyze historical production data, type curves, and performance trends to identify optimization opportunities and highlight anomalies
- Audit and maintain data integrity across reservoir models and reserves systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout technical workflows
- Develop clear, compelling reports and presentations that translate complex technical findings into insights for reservoir engineers and executive leadership
- Create dashboards and visualization tools to track KPIs related to well performance, reserves, and economic limits
- Troubleshoot data issues and drive improvements in data collection, storage, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and reliability
- Partner closely with reservoir engineering and technical teams to support ongoing analysis and strategic decision-making
- Associate’s degree in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
- 1–2 years of experience in technical data analysis, engineering support, or a similar role within the oil and gas industry preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL for querying and managing databases
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data linking
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of reservoir engineering fundamentals (e.g., porosity, permeability, saturation) and familiarity with reserves and economics software such as Combo Curve and ARIES
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical data to non-technical audiences
- Self-directed, results-oriented professional who can prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to perform light physical work and operate standard office and computer equipment
