Northeast Natural Energy (NNE) is an independent West Virginia based natural gas exploration and production company. NNE is seeking a Land Manager for its Morgantown, WV office. This position will provide general support to the land operations business unit. This role will work with other land managers to manage workflow processes, surface & subsurface acquisitions, broker management, mapping integrity, due diligence, and business development. These functions will enhance the operational footprint of the company in West Virginia.
This position requires the candidate to work on-site; it is NOT a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing surface acquisitions needed for oil and gas infrastructure, including pipeline ROWs, roads, pad sites, water line ROWs, compressor sites, etc.
- Support subsurface acquisition efforts in the company’s operated area, including leases and other curative documents.
- Assist in business-to-business relationships with other companies.
- Assist with due diligence on properties to be acquired.
- Assist in managing external brokers, attorneys, and other vendors.
- Coordinate with GIS personnel for development of maps for planning and exhibit purposes.
- Help manage project budgets and timelines.
- Prepare and manage data related to transactional work with other operators.
- Assist in strategic planning and deal structuring.
- Assist in other special projects.
- Understand and utilize knowledge of Company’s contractual land obligations; ensure Company compliance with such obligations.
- Coordinate with permitting, construction, water, drilling departments as needed to ensure full spectrum land work is accomplished.
- Other duties as assigned for Land Department support.
Qualifications and
Skills Required:
- Minimum of twelve years industry experience
- Basic legal knowledge related to title documents, spreadsheets, and natural gas industry transaction documents
- Working knowledge of courthouse research and tax maps
- Ability to work well with others
- Broad and detailed knowledge of oil and gas business and land rights

- Social perceptiveness and ability to manage time efficiently.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate orally and through written communication and coordinate with others.
- Aptitude for advanced deductive reasoning and speaking in public.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Requires prolonged sitting at a desk using a computer and other office equipment.
