• Lead, design, install, commission, as well as maintain and improve low acid aseptic process and equipment. Implements and maintains plant equipment, systems and other fixed assets to a high standard of safety, quality, and productivity.
• Provide process and engineering support to all aspects of the operation, including dairy receiving, batching/blending, pasteurization, UHT Processing, aseptic filling, and packaging equipment.
• Identify root causes of manufacturing failures using structured problem solving methodologies like fishbone and 8D; apply fixes to prevent reoccurrence.
• Support CAPA initiatives for regulatory compliance, ensuring processes meet USDA and FDA standards.
• Improve equipment data collection, utilization, efficiency, and obsolescence. Collaborate with other functions to execute projects successfully.
• Develop and review process documentation, including SOPs, batch records, validation protocols, and change control documents.
• Support EH&S activities, including developing Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Perform on-site troubleshooting during process scale-up and implementation.
• Monitor and maintain utility systems such as RO water systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and support process investigations and change controls.
• Create equipment/process specifications, drawings, and software as needed.
• Develop project justifications and proposals for capital investments.
• Provide technical training to department employees and others involved.
• Monitor production and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with maintaining facility utility system performance and safety protocols.
Requirements• Bachelor's degree in Process, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 7 years of engineering experience in aseptic processing or related regulated environment (GMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, USDA).
• Proficient in problem solving methodologies.
• Skilled in data analysis and loss deployment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, process, automation issues.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of software systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, B&R), HMIs, alarms.
• Extensive understanding of engineering principles and procedures.
• Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and work with equipment containing electromagnetic components.
• Ability to work prolonged periods at a desk and computer.
