The Office of Legacy Management (LM) manages the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) legacy responsibilities resulting from the nuclear weapons program. As an Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Physical Scientist you will:

• Coordinate and carry out long-term monitoring at closed sites contaminated with hazardous and radioactive waste.
• Manage one or more field sites to make sure cleanup policies and land-use rules are followed.
• Keep sites in compliance with federal, state, local, and tribal environmental laws and regulations.
• Verify that all site activities keep the public and the surrounding environment safe.
• Evaluate contractor performance and give clear, technical guidance to contract workers and staff.
• Explain highly technical and complex science and engineering details about the sites in clear, simple language both in writing and in meetings.
