Position: Event Staff
Department: Arts & Culture Development
Schedule: Varies
Compensation: $15.00/hour
POSITION SUMMARYUnder supervision or direction of the Arts & Cultural Venue Manager, or Theater Technician, performs technical support activities for the Metropolitan Theatre and Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park Amphitheater. Assists in the technical operation and maintenance of sound, lighting, rigging, and related equipment and systems used in support of stage productions, meetings, and other events.
This position works as a stagehand, door, stage security staff, and may be assigned as concession staff, usher, or other duties as needed for the Metropolitan Theatre and Ruby Amphitheater.
- Assist as needed with technical support of sound equipment, lighting equipment, and other activities in support of performances and productions.
- Assist as needed with deployment and use of equipment, including lighting, sound, and rigging equipment.
- Work in a public environment, following instructions from Arts & Cultural Venue manager and senior technical staff.
- Keep theater clean and present a positive image of the theater and the City.
- Work as a stagehand, loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and buses of equipment.
- Follow directions from touring and event stage managers and theater senior staff.
- Utilize proper safety practices and procedures.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Follow directions from touring and event stage managers and theater senior staff.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders safely and follow safety protocols as directed.
- Clean theater, stage and dressing room areas, outside as directed property.
- Staff entrances and exits as security person as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Work in a loud environment.
- Lift and carry loads of up to 50 pounds.
- Reports to the Arts & Culture Manager & Theater Technician.

Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by coursework or hand-on training in theater operations, performing arts, or a related field.
Experience:- Ability to work with the public, clients and their staff, talent and support staff. Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.
