Job Description
The Senior Corporate Trust Advisor is responsible for ongoing delivery of quality services to clients within the Corporate Trust Group, providing expert guidance and advice. The Advisor stays abreast of market conditions and trends, develops new business, cross‑trains team members, and maintains the Group’s budget.
Responsibilities- Develop a broad understanding and effectively present our capabilities related to Corporate Trust Services.
- Accountable for the full scope of account management of assigned institutional clients, including daily transaction processing, bond payment management, ensuring proper fund investment, and overseeing compliance with bond indentures or other governing documents.
- Maintain compliance with policies and procedures to ensure superior client service, and acceptable audits and examinations.
- Review and analyze new bond issues with assistance of counsel.
- Prepare and execute monthly reports for bond payments.
- Review all client fee invoices for accuracy and collect past‑due invoices.
- Maintain good relationships with attorneys, underwriters, commercial lenders and other centers of influence for referrals.
- Be fully engaged in new business development activities.
- Identify cross‑selling opportunities within existing relationships to better serve clients and increase revenues, particularly in deposits and investment management services.
- Coach, train and evaluate performance of Corporate Trust Group team members.
- Support overall goals of the Wealth Management Group by adhering to budget and growing our business.
- Collaborate with others in department on various duties and projects as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Professional designation preferred (e.g., advanced degree, CCTS).
- Minimum of five (5) years of related professional working experience required.
- Past experience in corporate trust, bond administration, agencies and escrows highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and internet usage required.
- Prior experience in sales is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 20% for client meetings and bond closings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret bond indentures and governing documents.
- Understanding of basic accounting and banking concepts.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Has sufficient dexterity of hands and fingers to efficiently operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components.
- Can converse and exchange information with all levels of staff within the organization.
- Can observe, perceive, identify and translate data.
- Can travel via airplane, bus, train and/or automobile.
