Financial Reporting Analyst

Our client—a swiftly expanding, publicly listed entity in the Energy industry—is in search of a Financial Reporting Analyst to assume complete responsibility for all SEC filings and public company adherence. This role is crucial for maintaining transparency, accuracy, and punctuality for someone well-versed in financial reporting mandates.

This position offers more than just reporting duties—you will serve as the primary expert for all external financial declarations, encompassing the preparation and submission of 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full charge of SEC filings such as 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and other obligatory disclosures, ensuring adherence to SEC, FASB, and US GAAP criteria.
  • Manage all facets of the external reporting schedule
    , including timelines, reviews, internal approvals, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate closely with internal accounting, legal, investor relations, and executive teams to uphold accuracy and coherence in all public disclosures.
  • Compose and sustain financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A segments of public declarations.
  • Interface with external auditors and legal advisors to assist in audit processes and public filings.
  • Ensure SOX compliance as it pertains to financial reporting procedures and internal controls.
  • Continuously monitor and adopt new accounting standards and SEC regulations
    , drafting technical memos as required.
  • Aid in earnings release preparation and other investor communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
    ; CPA certification highly desired.
  • 2+ years of financial reporting experience, ideally within a public corporation or Big 4 setting.
  • Thorough understanding of SEC reporting requirements, US GAAP, and SOX compliance
    .
  • Prior exposure to EDGAR filings
    , Workiva
    , or other financial reporting platforms is advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
    , organizational capabilities, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to interact confidently with various departments and senior management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools
    .
