This assignment features a weekly blended rate of $3,900, based on five 8‑hour day shifts. This role is ideal for a PA‑Pathologist skilled in gross examination, specimen dissection, and assisting with complex pathology workflow in a clinical laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Pathology Assistant

Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens
Prepare tissues for histological processing and diagnostic review
Assist pathologists with autopsies, including prosection and documentation
Ensure accurate labeling, specimen tracking, and workflow organization
Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and sterile technique
Document findings, descriptions, and specimen details with precision
Collaborate with pathologists, histotechs, and lab personnel
Uphold CLIA, CAP, and facility compliance standards

Requirements of the Pathology Assistant

Certified Pathology Assistant (ASCP‑PA) strongly preferred
State licensure if required by West Virginia
Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in surgical pathology
Strong knowledge of gross anatomy and lab safety
