Travel Pathology Assistant (ASCP-certified) - 13-week travel assignment in Morgantown, WV supporting anatomic pathology grossing, frozen sections, and Epic Beaker AP documentation. Join a fast-paced academic hospital anatomic pathology team.

• Position: Pathology Assistant / Pathologists' Assistant (Travel Pathology Job)
• Location: Morgantown, WV 26506 - West Virginia pathology jobs
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 1, 2026 - May 31, 2026)
• Setting: Acute Care Hospital - Anatomic Pathology Gross Room
• Shift: 8-hour days (primarily 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• On-Site: Yes
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: None
• Dress Code: Hospital scrubs provided
• Orientation: Department-specific training provided by current Pathology Assistants
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,830-$3,040
• Cancellation Policy: 2 shifts per 13 week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks.

• Certification: Certified Pathologists' Assistant (PA) via ASCP (verification required)
• Education: Bachelor's degree required
• Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Pathology Assistant with demonstrated ability to gross simple and complex tissue specimens
• Technical Skills: Experience with Epic Beaker AP preferred; proficiency with cryostat, bone saw, scalpels/knives, and gross room instrumentation
• Life Support: BLS (AHA) required
• Phlebotomy: Not required

• Perform gross examination, dissection, and sampling of routine and complex surgical pathology specimens (grossing)
• Support frozen section workflow and ensure timely case progression for intraoperative consultations
• Document accurate gross descriptions and specimen details in Epic Beaker AP and other LIS systems
• Utilize gross room equipment safely and effectively, following departmental safety and quality standards
• Collaborate directly with pathologists, histology staff, and the anatomic pathology team to support daily service needs across multiple hospital gross room locations
• Adapt to increasing case complexity and volume in a fast-paced academic medical center
