The Training Programme Director In Surgical Research Support will support the Head Of School in the strategic development of the School Of Surgery. The post holder will specifically have responsibility for
Responsibilities- Strategy development and implementation to enable support for surgical post‑graduate doctors in training (PGDIT) undergoing a period of out of programme for research (OOPR). This will include development of both educators and PGDIT’s. This will also include development of strategies to improve research opportunities and liaison with relevant educational institutions.
- Support PGDIT’s to enable access to opportunities to complement the existing surgical curriculum and provide pastoral support to those in OOPR’s.
- The post holder will lead on the development of the School’s Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme.
- Work in collaboration with Head of School of Surgery to develop and implement a Medical Workforce Strategy which supports the retention of Surgical Trainees with focus on the developing opportunities for research.
- Integrity and commitment to integrate innovation into surgical training programmes.
