The Director of Development is a senior leadership position responsible for planning, directing, and executing comprehensive fundraising, grant development, business development, marketing, and community engagement strategies to generate revenue, promote growth opportunities, and advance the mission of PACE Enterprises. This position plays a critical role in public education, relationship-building, enterprise growth, and long‑term sustainability efforts, while serving as a visible and professional representative of PACE within the community.
SALARY RANGE: $62,000-$70,000
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred;
Master’s degree preferred (directly related experience may be substituted) - Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, development, marketing, or related fields
- Demonstrated high standards of honesty, ethics, and professionalism
- Knowledge of nonprofit business management practices
- Strong understanding of fundraising methods and applicable regulations
- Excellent research skills, including identifying funding opportunities through foundations, corporations, and government entities
- Outstanding written communication skills, including grant writing and impact storytelling
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills for small and large audiences
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Commitment to and ability to promote the strengths, inclusion, and vocational needs of people with disabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative leadership team
- Must pass a Criminal Background Investigation
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES General Administration
- Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to organizational strategy, planning, and decision‑making
- Assists in the development of the annual organizational budget
- Acts as a knowledgeable, professional, and positive representative of PACE in all internal and external settings
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with community leaders, partners, funders, and stakeholders
- Actively advocates for access to meaningful employment and opportunities for people with disabilities
- Leads and manages the organization’s development plan, including grants, individual giving, sponsor ships, and special events
- Works with the CEO and Board of Directors to cultivate and solicit major gifts and long‑term funding relationships
- Identifies, researches, writes, and manages grant proposals and funding applications (including recurring and special project grants)
- Oversees compliance, reporting, and stewardship requirements for awarded grants
- Coordinates with program staff to ensure accurate implementation, data collection, and reporting for funded initiatives
- Maintains and updates funder, donor, and community prospect lists
- Develops new fundraising initiatives and revenue opportunities aligned with PACE’s mission and strategic plan, including identifying and promoting business development opportunities for PACE Enterprises (e.g., Shredding, Beehive, and emerging ventures)
- Prepares regular development and fundraising reports for leadership and the Board
- Plans, manages, and executes major fundraising events (including Gala and Golf Outing), overseeing the majority of event logistics, sponsor ships, and donor stewardship
- Identifies opportunities to expand or enhance fundraising events and community‑based revenue activities
- Actively represents PACE at chamber events, professional associations, networking groups, and community functions
- Cultivates relationships with businesses and partners for sponsor ships, donations, and employment opportunities
- Collaborates with leadership and the Board to identify and communicate key messages about PACE’s mission and impact
- Develops and implements marketing strategies to increase awareness of programs and services
