American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Job Description & Requirements

• Work setting is an acute care hospital Heart and Vascular Institute with 6 OR suites performing 14–16 cases per day
• Unit covers vascular, cardiac, and thoracic surgical cases including CABG, valve repair/replacement (open and robotic), ECMO, transplant, lung resection, VATS, esophagostomy, POEM, hiatal hernia repair, diagnostic angiography, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, dialysis access management, and amputation
• RN is responsible for both circulating and sedation duties
• Common vascular procedures include peripheral artery bypass, AAA repair (open and endovascular/EVAR), carotid endarterectomies, TCAR, TAG, fistula creation, and amputations
• Thoracic coverage is also required for this role
• Day shift: four 10-hour shifts, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
• One night of on-call per week and one weekend of call per month are required; 30-minute call response time is required (on-site housing available during call if needed)
• Holiday call coverage is required and travelers will be inserted into the holiday call rotation as needed
• Floating within other services of the Heart and Vascular Institute may be required
• Epic EMR is used in this position
• One week of unit orientation is provided
• A charge nurse is present in the OR each day
• Hospital-provided ceil blue surgical scrubs are required
• Two supervisor and peer references are required for consideration, including one supervisor reference from any permanent facility worked within the last 12 months
• A skills checklist completed within the past year is required for consideration
• Copies of current certifications and a valid driver s license are required for consideration
• All candidates interview directly with the unit manager

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Experience in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery is required
• Demonstrated knowledge of both open vascular and endovascular surgical techniques is required
• Experience with peripheral artery bypass, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomies, fistula creation, amputations, and endovascular procedures (EVAR, TCAR, TAG) is required
• Sedation experience is preferred
• Thoracic surgical experience is helpful
• Copy of nursing diploma required for consideration (needed for POC license processing)
• Driver s license address must be more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before applying
• Candidates who have worked within the WVU system for a cumulative year or more must also take a 2-year break before applying
