Job Overview
The Manager of Home Health Services is responsible for the daily operations and management of the local Home Health services at the designated location(s). This role ensures the delivery of high‑quality patient care, compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, and efficient management of resources.
Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of Home Health services, ensuring high‑quality patient care and compliance with all regulations.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Home Health staff, including nurses, therapists, and support personnel.
- Manage the budget and resources for the Home Health department, ensuring cost‑effective service delivery.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, implementing improvements as needed.
- Coordinate with the Director of Home Health to develop strategic plans and goals for the department.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and compliance with documentation standards.
- Address patient and family concerns and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure continuity of care.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes in Home Health services.
- Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or a valid multi‑state RN license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Valid driver's license.
- Five (5) years of progressive Registered Nurse experience.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Two (2) years of previous experience in a hospital/home care/hospice leadership role (such as charge nurse, nurse manager, or demonstrated strong leadership skills while functioning as a staff nurse).
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling necessary for nursing duties.
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients of all weights with varying assistance, regularly and repeatedly.
- Exposure to adverse road conditions, extreme weather, animals, insects, and hazardous roadways.
- Work may be performed at patients’ homes and may require extensive travel.
- Ability to perform successfully under high‑stress conditions and adapt to varying workloads.
- Ability to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific principles and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
- Ability to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Mathematical skills to calculate drug dosages and infusion rates.
