Position: Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,571 per week in Morgantown, WV

Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical‑Surgical

Location: Morgantown, WV

Agency: Prime Staffing

Pay: $2,571 per week

Shift Information: Nights – 4 days of 12‑hour shifts (19:00–07:00)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: 7/27/2026 (as soon as possible)

About the Position

Travel Nurse Source  and Prime Staffing are seeking a qualified Med/Surg RN for a 13‑week contract in Morgantown, West Virginia. The role will primarily provide nursing care to adult patients in a 34‑bed medical/surgical unit with telemetry and acute medical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions.
  • Manage patient flow and participate in daily huddles to optimize assignments using an acuity tool.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort through appropriate monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
  • Adhere to unit policies, procedures, and regulations for infection control and documentation.
  • Support patient discharge planning and education.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse license in West Virginia or a valid Compact license (pending license accepted).
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience in medical/surgical settings.
  • Certification required:
    BCLS, NIHSS, ACLS, BLS (certifications must be current and issued by the American Heart Association).
  • Experience with the Cerner electronic medical record system.
  • Strong clinical skills in airway management, central line care, blood product administration, telemetry monitoring, and post‑procedural care.
  • Proficiency in documentation, charting, and use of telemedicine tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Shift & Scheduling
  • Shifts:

    4 days a week, 12‑hour nights (19:00–07:00).
  • Patient ratios: 1:5–7 during days, 1:6 at nights, and 1:6 on weekends.
  • Three 12‑hour weekend shifts per 4‑week cycle.
  • Required float and call coverage as directed by management.
Benefits

75‑mile radius to facility; unit provides scrubs and access to smoking‑cessation services, although scrubs are not supplied. COVID‑19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required for health‑care personnel.
