Position: Adjunct Clinical Faculty - CNE - Med-Surg (Fall Semester 2026)

Overview

The CNE adjunct faculty member is responsible for delivering high-quality education to nursing students on a part‑time basis. This role involves teaching, mentoring, and supporting students and collaborating with full‑time faculty to enhance the nursing program. Adjunct faculty members are expected to bring current clinical expertise into the classroom and clinical settings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree with a major in Nursing.
  • Or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and at least two years of direct care experience.
  • Current RN license issued by the state in which services will be provided or a multistate RN license through the eNLC.
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience in teaching.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Previous teaching experience in a nursing program.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acts as a professional role model to all nursing students, following and reinforcing documented policy.
  • Stays abreast of current nursing practice to enhance knowledge and clinical expertise.
  • Presents theory in an organized, understandable manner including application activities and interactive learning strategies.
  • Guides students to develop critical thinking and clinical decision‑making skills in clinical/simulation settings.
  • Supervises students during clinical practice and provides guidance in clinical settings.
  • Promotes and guides students to develop and utilize the nursing process and clinical judgement through clear examples and feedback.
  • Provides clinical/simulation learning activities utilizing a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to the environment, learner, and course outcomes.
  • Provides feedback on student performance and supports their professional development.
  • Fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborates with full‑time faculty to keep course content current with nursing practices and program standards.
  • Teaches up to 15 contact hours per semester in the classroom setting.
  • Maintains accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Submits grades and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Works effectively, respectfully, and appropriately as a member of the team.
  • Participates in curriculum planning and development.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned, contributing positively and fairly to all processes.
