Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit RN

This is a 13-week contract position.

3x12-Hour Night Shift (19:00 - 07:00) including weekdays and weekends.

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVIUC) RN will provide specialized care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries. The role requires experience in managing high-acuity patients, particularly those undergoing fresh open-heart admissions from the OR and requires critical oversight in advanced monitoring techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Manage direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR.
• Monitor and manage advanced hemodynamic parameters, including pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management.
• Administer and monitor CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy).
• Utilize Impella monitoring effectively post-operatively.
• Deliver care to high-acuity cardiac patients with potential overflow requiring step-down level care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must have 2+ years of nursing experience, specifically in CVIUC.
• Must have experience with direct open-heart admissions from the OR, cardiac surgery skills, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT.
• Current RN License (WV or Compact) required; pending licenses may be accepted.
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS (must be through AHA).
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
