Registered Nurse - IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Stepdown Unit Nursing Position

Provide specialized nursing care on a stepdown unit, focusing on post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients. Ensure patient safety, monitor vital signs, and administer medications within a fast-paced hospital environment.

• Administer and titrate IV medications, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, and Lasix, following physician orders.
• Interpret and develop patient cardiac rhythm strips, documenting findings accurately.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes or emergencies.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain and adhere to unit-specific protocols and safety standards.
• Complete shift reports and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.

• Valid RN license and current healthcare certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med Surg Stepdown or Telemetry experience.
• Proficiency in titrating drips and interpreting EKG strips.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong assessment skills and ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
