American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit position requiring a WV or compact RN license and 2+ years of Med/Surg experience on night shift.
Details- Work on a 5S Medical Surgical unit
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) including weekdays and weekends
- Patient ratios of 1:5-7
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- Unit cannot guarantee schedule requests but will try to accommodate travelers
- Scrubs are not provided
- Active WV or compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (BLS and ACLS must be through AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Cerner charting system experience required
- Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- RTO must be submitted at time of application
- Skills required include GI care, respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, tracheostomy care), IV therapy and phlebotomy, neurological/psychiatric care, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and renal/dialysis management
- Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care across gastrointestinal, respiratory, neurological, cardiovascular, and renal patient populations
- Facility has a strict attendance policy tolerating only 2-3 call-offs per contract
- Candidates must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
- Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last employment date before returning as a traveler
- Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
- Orientation is held every other Monday
- Non-billable training modules average 8 hours and must be completed prior to the start date
- Previous license probationary actions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
