American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med Surg night shift position requiring a WV or compact license and telemetry strip reading skills.

• Acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital setting on the 7 West Stepdown/Med Surg unit
• 32 total beds - 12 Stepdown and 20 general Med Surg
• Stepdown ratio of 1:3 and floor ratio of 1:4-6
• Typical Med Surg diagnoses include chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, and hospice overflow
• Telemetry unit requiring RNs to read strips in conjunction with continuous monitor tech coverage
• Titratable drips administered in Stepdown while floor patients receive PCAs and heparin drips
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7:30a
• 36 scheduled hours per week
• 2 weekends required per schedule
• Floating required to any floor or Stepdown unit
• Charge nurse and house supervisor available for support

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Ability to read telemetry strips required

• Holiday coverage follows the permanent staff holiday schedule
• Royal blue scrubs required per dress code
• COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemption forms available for review
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility (100 miles for Princeton Community Hospital)
• Previous permanent or travel staff must have a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers cannot work within the WVU system for longer than 1 cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
• Candidates will interview directly with the unit manager
