American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position requiring 2+ years of total joint replacement experience and a WV or compact RN license.
Details- Acute care Med/Surg/Ortho unit in a Level 1 trauma hospital
- 22-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Orthopedic patient population including joint replacements and fractures
- Telemetry monitoring present on unit, though RNs are not required to read strips
- RNs not required to titrate drips
- Respiratory therapy equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow) used as needed
- CNAs available at a ratio of 1:7-8, with charge nurse coverage 24/7
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Night shift schedule, Friday/Saturday/Sunday 7p-7:30a
- Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- Possible floating to 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E units
- 36 guaranteed hours per week over a 13-week contract
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Total joint replacement experience required (fracture-only experience not sufficient)
- Strong orthopedic nursing background required
- BSN not required
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide an approved medical/religious exemption
- Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care to orthopedic patients including joint replacement and fracture cases
- 1-2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
- Royal blue scrub color required per dress code
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate (100 miles for Princeton Community Hospital)
- Previous permanent staff must have a 2-year break before returning as a traveler
- Previous travelers who completed a full year at this health system must take a 2-year break before returning
- Travelers may not work within this health system for longer than one year without taking a 2-year break
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
