Description:

The CVICU Registered Nurse provides high-quality care in a critical environment. Must have experience in direct fresh open-heart admissions from the operating room. Experience with pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management is required. Knowledge of Impella monitoring and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) is essential. Must be able to manage direct open heart admissions. The patient-to-nurse ratio is based on acuity, generally 1:2.

Candidates should have cardiac surgery skills. Candidates must be able to admit patients straight from the operating room. Travel experience is not required but preferred. Scrubs are not provided. This position involves a variety of critical nursing skills including arterial line management and care for ventilated patients. Candidates must demonstrate management of dysrhythmias and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.

The unit generally cares for adults and geriatric patients. The environment is fast-paced and requires interdisciplinary support teams. Applicants should possess expertise in post-cardiac surgery care directly from the operating room.
