Wise Path Recovery Center is seeking an experienced and mission‑driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations within our substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment program.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for an RN who can balance clinical excellence, strong team leadership, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and day‑to‑day operations. The DON will serve as a senior member of the treatment team and work closely with medical, clinical, operational, and executive leadership to ensure patients receive safe, compassionate, recovery‑oriented care.

You Will- Lead and develop a dedicated nursing team.

Lead Nursing Operations
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership and oversight for all nursing services.
- Build and maintain nursing schedules that support appropriate patient coverage and acuity.
- Provide direct nursing support or coverage when operationally necessary.
- Establish clear nursing workflows, communication practices, and shift handoff processes.
- Maintain oversight of nursing supplies, medication processes, and medical operations.
Develop and Support the Nursing Team
- Recruit, onboard, supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff.
- Conduct nursing competency assessments and performance evaluations.
- Identify training needs and provide ongoing clinical education.
- Establish clear expectations for accountability, professionalism, documentation, and patient care.
- Support staff through high‑acuity or challenging clinical situations.
Ensure High‑Quality Patient Care
- Oversee nursing assessments and monitoring of patients with substance use disorders and co‑occurring medical or behavioral health needs.
- Ensure appropriate identification and escalation of withdrawal symptoms, medical concerns, and other high‑risk indicators.
- Ensure physician orders and evidence‑based nursing protocols are followed.
- Support medication administration, reconciliation, and safe medication management.
- Participate in discharge planning and coordination of ongoing medical care.
Drive Compliance & Quality
- Ensure nursing practices comply with applicable federal and state requirements, organizational policies, and accreditation standards.
- Maintain nursing readiness for The Joint Commission and other regulatory surveys, where applicable.
- Monitor nursing documentation, Medication Administration Records (MARs), and clinical records for accuracy and completeness.
