Job Overview
Research Assistant in the Department of Neuroscience at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, West Virginia University.
This position supports projects related to brain networks dynamics after brain injury using cutting‑edge technologies such as in vivo multi‑photon microscopy, optogenetics, and rodent behavioral testing.
Responsibilities include core lab work such as multiphoton imaging, behavioral tests, virus injections, mouse brain histology, data analysis, and general lab maintenance (chemical inventory and safety records). The incumbent will collaborate with lab members and principal investigators to develop analysis plans and explore data.
Pay Grade: 15.

- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences.
- Minimum 0–6 months of relevant research experience.
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.

Skills and Abilities
- Technical skills in cellular and molecular biology.
- Experience handling rodents in experimental settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with other researchers.
- This position may require Medical Monitoring, including periodic health monitoring and/or training.
