DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly under supervision of the Lab Manager & Chief Operator
  • Assist in running bac t lab and maintaining lab certification
  • Organizing and conducting compliance and noncompliance monitoring
  • Maintaining select lab analyzers and equipment
  • Collection and analysis of system and plant water
  • Quality analytical control in the laboratory
  • Data entry and analytical record keeping
  • Collect and analyze water from locations with complaints
  • Responsible for laboratory supply inventory and ordering
  • Investigate customer taste and odor complaints
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science related field or 5 years of laboratory experience required (environmental, water, microbiology, chemistry or related laboratory)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written instructions
  • Basic computer and record keeping skills
  • Ability to handle glassware and lab equipment
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Working in / around confined spaces, lifting / pulling up to 50 pounds, sitting, reaching, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, climbing as needed
  • Working in outside environmental elements that include but are not limited to extreme heat and cold. Exposure to odor, noise, vibration, chemicals, extreme dust, sewage, fumes, insects, snakes, dogs, poison ivy / oak, and other potentially hazardous plants and animals

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in science or related field

Salary Range: Minimum of $23.93 hourly (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)
