Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cement Finisher to join our construction team. You will be responsible for prepping, smoothing, leveling, and treating freshly poured concrete surfaces to meet precise project specifications. You will work on a variety of commercial and residential projects, ensuring a durable and high-quality finish every time. When concrete work is unavailable, employees will be expected to assist with general labor duties, including masonry work, structural steel erection, and other construction-related tasks as assigned.

Job Responsibilities- Prep for Concrete Pours:
Grading gravel, installing vapor barrier, placing wire mesh and rebar. - Finish Surfaces:
Smooth and level concrete using hand tools, long-handled floats, and mechanical power trowels. - Apply Textures:
Create specific finishes, including non-slip broom textures for sidewalks and high-gloss finishes for interior floors. - Edge and Joint:
Cut contraction joints and round concrete slab edges to prevent future cracking and chipping. - Repair Concrete:
Patch defects, fill voids, and smooth rough spots on hardened structures using cement pastes or epoxies. - Manage Curing:
Apply chemical sealers or wet blankets to ensure concrete dries evenly and reaches maximum strength. - Remove Forms:
Safely strip away wooden or plastic forms once the concrete has cured without damaging the edges.
- Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a cement finisher or concrete laborer. - Tool Expertise:
Mastery of hand tools (edgers, trowels, floats) and experience operating power trowels. - Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., kneel for long periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. - Timing
Skills:
Strong understanding of how heat, wind, and humidity impact concrete setting times. - Transportation:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various jobsites.
