At Northwest Hardwoods (NWH), you'll play an important role in keeping our equipment, vehicles, and operations running safely and efficiently. As an experienced
Diesel Mechanic II
, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing diesel-powered equipment and vehicles used throughout our operations. You'll work closely with the manufacturing and maintenance teams to minimize downtime, keep equipment operating reliably, and help maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
This position is all about safety, reliability, and attention to detail. You'll be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery to keep our operations running safely and efficiently. Your mechanical expertise, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety will help minimize downtime and ensure our equipment is ready to support the production process and deliver high-quality lumber to our customers around the world.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced

- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and drive trains
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks, log trailers, semi-trailers, and conveyors
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues quickly and effectively
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
- Work safely while following all company safety procedures
- Assist with fabrication and other mechanical projects as needed
- Operate equipment as needed
- Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain work area appearance and safety
We're looking for someone who is experienced, dependable, safety-minded, and enjoys working with their hands. You should take pride in your work, be comfortable troubleshooting and fixing equipment, and enjoy keeping things running smoothly.
Required:· Effectively communicate with service manager and coworkers
· Must have a minimum of 3 years of Diesel Mechanic experience
· Keep pace with industry standards to make sound recommendations
· Must be able to perform strenuous and heavy work
· Must be flexible in work hours
· Must follow NWH Attendance Policy
Preferred:· Previous experience in lumber yard, sawmill
