At Citizens Advice North & West Kent and Kent Law Centre, our award-winning Money & Mental Health Project supports people experiencing mental health challenges alongside debt, benefits, housing and financial difficulties. The project’s innovative, person-centred approach was recognised with the Kent Healthwatch Recognition Award 2025 and continues to transform lives across Kent.
As a Money & Mental Health Caseworker, you’ll become a trusted source of support for vulnerable clients, helping them navigate complex financial situations, maximise income, reduce debt, access benefits and regain control of their lives. You’ll take a holistic, trauma-informed approach, working alongside healthcare professionals, support services and community partners to achieve meaningful, long-term outcomes for clients.
What You’ll Be Doing- Deliver specialist debt and welfare benefits advice
- Manage a varied caseload of clients with complex needs
- Advocate with creditors, statutory agencies and support services
- Help clients access benefits, grants and financial support
- Build trusted relationships with people experiencing mental health challenges
- Work collaboratively with health, social care and community partners
- Support clients to improve their financial resilience, wellbeing and independence
- Has experience delivering advice, casework or support services
- Understands debt, welfare benefits or financial capability issues
- Can build rapport with vulnerable clients and work in a compassionate, person-centred way
- Is organised, resilient and able to manage a varied caseload
- Shares our commitment to tackling poverty, inequality and social exclusion
