Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Control Room Operator for a transit operations team in Morgantown, WV. This position plays a critical role in monitoring transit operations, responding to service interruptions, coordinating with field personnel, and ensuring safe and reliable transportation services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in dispatching, transportation operations, monitoring systems, or coordinating field activities and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and quick decision-making are essential.
Responsibilities- Monitor transit operations from a centralized control room
- Track system activity and respond to operational issues or service disruptions
- Communicate effectively with operators, maintenance teams, and other personnel
- Coordinate responses to emergencies, equipment issues, and service delays
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of incidents and activities
- Follow established safety procedures and operating protocols
- Utilize computer systems and monitoring technology to support daily operations
- Provide clear communication through radio and other communication systems
- Previous experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, security monitoring, or a control room environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions during unexpected situations
- Comfortable using computers and learning new technology systems
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures
