Job DescriptionPosition Title: Child Nutrition Cook
Reports To: Child Nutrition Manager and Building Principal

- Demonstrate a commitment to safety, learning, and academic achievement by actively participating in the Professional Learning Community Process and carrying out assigned responsibilities to contribute the mission of the South Conway County School District.
- Demonstrate effective customer service to all district patrons and an attitude of helpfulness toward fellow employees, students, and staff.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and acceptable personal appearance, following the appropriate dress code. No fingernail polish, fake nails, or jewelry. Must have a hairnet, appropriate pants, and non‑canvas shoes. Shirts must be of the same color assigned by the Child Nutrition Manager or Child Nutrition Director.
- Be on time; punctuality is required. Time schedule is established by the Child Nutrition Manager or Child Nutrition Director.
- Follow all health, safety, work habits, and sanitation guidelines as stated in the Child Nutrition Regulations.
- Follow and maintain district policies, along with all state and federal regulations.
- Keep private information concerning scholars, teachers, and other school personnel confidential.
- Complete all duties assigned by the Manager through a daily work schedule.
- Prepare nutritious food by standardized recipes for specified quantities and serve food to program participants according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.
- Actively participate in staff development training opportunities provided by the Child Nutrition Director and/or Child Nutrition Manager.
- Understand and follow directions as given to perform the job in a safe and responsible manner.
- Cooperate in all activities necessary for the best functioning of the SCCSD Food Service Program.
- Complete all daily duties by the end of the workday as assigned by the Child Nutrition Manager and Child Nutrition Director.
Pass all appropriate background checks.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; food service experience preferred.
Effective beginning the 2006‑2007 school year, a minimum of twelve (12) hours of in‑service training must be part of a full‑time child nutrition worker contract each school year. Failure to complete the 12‑hour training may result in termination by the local school district.

Travel to other buildings or local training sites may be required. The position may involve irregular or extended work hours.
