Job Duties

The Assistant Dean of Workforce Education & Training provides operational leadership for certificate and degree programs, ensuring high‑quality instruction, effective program delivery, and alignment with industry needs. The Assistant Dean supports faculty, manages academic processes, and coordinates program operations in collaboration with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Workforce & Industry Engagement. The Assistant Dean performs duties in cooperation with other administrators and in accordance with the policies of the College.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the development of the class schedule for the departments within the division as requested.
  • Evaluate full‑time and part‑time faculty members as assigned.
  • Review departmental curricula and assist in the development of course syllabi.
  • Coordinate departmental assessment activities within the division.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and assist in the development of budget and equipment requests.
  • Conduct divisional faculty meetings regularly.
  • Assist the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services and appropriate search committees in the recruitment and selection of full‑time and part‑time faculty, including concurrent faculty.
  • Coordinate advisory committee meetings designated for departments within the division.
  • Interact with community and business leaders to form long‑term working relationships.
  • Assist in the development of College policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of new degree/certificate programs.
  • Coordinate the selection of textbooks by the faculty.
  • Assist with advising as needed.
  • Schedule and complete program reviews as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services.
  • Assist in the review of articulation agreements with local high schools and MOUs with local and regional colleges and universities in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services.
Qualifications

All employees at UACCM must have a commitment to work cooperatively with all campus personnel to fulfill the Mission of UACCM and have the ability to deliver quality customer services.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five years full‑time teaching experience
  • Three years teaching at the college level
  • Other job‑related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree
  • Three plus years of teaching at the college level
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Possesses outstanding mathematical skills
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to create and maintain professional and cooperative work relationships within and outside of the college
  • Advanced knowledge of the use of computers, particularly Excel, databases and accounting software
  • Able to analyze financial information, apply critical thinking and problem‑solving strategies striving for greater business efficiencies
  • Strong organizational and research skills
  • Able to supervise and manage employees effectively
  • Working knowledge of data and student privacy standards within the college and finance settings
  • Able to travel for meetings, conferences, and other events as required
  • Previous experience with a software conversion
  • Able to coordinate multiple projects, tasks and deadlines on a regular basis
Salary Information

$60,000 to $70,000, commensurate with education and experience.
