Summary of

Job Duties:

The Adjunct Fine Arts Faculty shall be responsible to the Dean of General Education. Examples of courses taught include Art Appreciation and Art History.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach classes as assigned by the appropriate Academic Dean. Instructor will be expected to meet each class for the full duration of each scheduled class period.
  • Provide availability to students for a sufficient amount of time out of class to meet the students’ needs for assistance with course work.
  • Maintain skills and knowledge within his or her area. Instructor will attend required professional development activities on campus and can attend activities off campus.
  • Maintain updated documents and grades in the current LMS, and will submit grades in a timely manner as required by the Registrar’s Office.
  • Ensure a syllabus for each course taught is on file in the office of the appropriate Academic Dean and any and all revisions submitted in a timely manner.
  • Review and select the textbooks and/or other materials for their assigned course(s) as required.
  • Cooperate with the Advisory Committee for his or her program (if applicable) and incorporate feedback as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate consistent professionalism and commitment to working cooperatively with all campus personnel.
  • Complete any required reports within the prescribed time frame.
  • Attend functions at the College as requested by administrative officers.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean and/or Vice Chancellor for Academics.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in related field.
  • Prior teaching experience in a higher education setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to students and peers.
  • Skilled at organizing work and managing time effectively to best serve the student and the department.
  • Able to work cooperatively and effectively with people of various cultural backgrounds.
  • Able to deliver quality customer service to a diverse student population.
  • Able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and basic computer applications.
Salary Information:

$625 per credit hour taught
