Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing facilities and manufacturing support—continuous/process improvement and troubleshooting—in a regulated GMP environment; new equipment commissioning and validation; and technology improvement. The engineer requires a solid foundation and knowledge across electrical, mechanical, and process engineering to carry out troubleshooting, design, and execution.

Designs, develops, analyzes, and implements manufacturing process repairs and improvements, leading support for various operational groups in determining root cause and resolving equipment uptime and operational efficiencies. Supports cost reduction initiatives and implements process improvements to existing products to meet cost‑reduction goals.

Shift & Availability

Day Shift: 7 AM – 4 PM, Monday – Friday. May support additional shifts as needed.

Duties
  • Diagnose urgent issues when manufacturing processes are not functioning as intended using a solid understanding of science fundamentals and a broad skill set for troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and programmable systems.
  • Conduct continuous improvement activities ranging from small process corrections to large capital improvement projects.
  • Execute cross‑departmental projects, acting as a bridge between departments to ensure future requirements align with ongoing plans.
  • Guide project owners to apply best engineering practices and track project expenditures within budget.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Facilities to increase reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Develop and evaluate manufacturing processes using risk‑based thinking to improve operational efficiency and product quality through data analysis.
  • Provide daily technical guidance and troubleshooting to resolve process‑related problems.
  • Apply continuous improvement strategies such as Design of Experiments, lean manufacturing, and statistical process control.
  • Maintain professional etiquette that exemplifies Zebra’s guiding values.
  • Lead and facilitate teams and meetings that promote participation and teamwork.
  • Implement and maintain all facility environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Keep work area organization and documentation to satisfy ISO and GMP standards.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with all departments.
  • Design, develop, and test manufacturing assignments that are part of larger projects, creating documentation to describe specific functionality.
  • Review test results and perform root cause analysis to identify problems and recommend solutions, ensuring compliance with quality processes and standards.
  • Modify existing mechanical designs and enhance technologies for new solutions.
  • Make and implement recommendations to the team to enhance performance and productivity.
  • Seek new tools to analyze and solve problems.
  • Judge appropriate action within defined procedures and practices.
  • Receive general instructions on routine work, new projects, or assignments.
  • May provide guidance to non‑exempt personnel and build productive working relationships internally and externally.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of GMP manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, and gloves.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with system integration.
  • Experience in machine maintenance.
Pay Range

$76,640.00 – $ per year.

Incentive Compensation

Base pay plus a performance‑based annual cash incentive at a target equal to 10 % of base pay, in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
