Job Description
As an Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist at Honeywell, you will engage in research and development activities to innovate and improve aerospace technologies. You will apply scientific principles and engineering practices to develop new products and enhance existing ones, contributing to Honeywell's leadership in the aerospace industry.
You will report directly to our Senior R&D Engineering Manager and work on-site at our Morris Plains, NJ location. In this role, you will impact the advancement of aerospace solutions that improve performance, safety, and efficiency in commercial and defense aircraft, supporting Honeywell's mission to create safer and more efficient air travel worldwide.
Responsibilities- Conduct research and development activities to design and test aerospace components and systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate scientific discoveries into practical engineering solutions.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports to support product development and innovation.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- Proven experience in research and development within aerospace or related industries, demonstrating ability to innovate and solve complex technical problems.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, systems, and engineering principles relevant to R&D activities.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and scientific software to interpret experimental results and support decision‑making.
- Experience with design of experiments, testing methodologies, and technical documentation to ensure robust product development.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or qualified protected status).
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in aerospace research and product development environments.
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of advanced materials, propulsion systems, or avionics is a plus.
