Position OverviewThe Lab Technician, Chemistry supports the Scientists on the R&D team through wet chemistry and instrumental analysis. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a Bachelor’s in the sciences who enjoys practical lab work and thrives in a structured, fast‑paced environment. This is a long‑term contract position, and some associates are hired directly by the company.
Responsibilities- The Lab Technician will be assisting with sample preparation, testing, documentation, and general laboratory support.
- Carefully weighing and mixing raw materials.
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to accurately weigh, measure, mix, and prepare materials.
- Performing wet chemistry and instrumental testing to evaluate physical and chemical properties.
- Operating and maintaining laboratory instruments.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and inspection‑ready workbench and laboratory space.
- Entering, reviewing, and verifying test data with attention to accuracy and traceability.
- Managing chemical, sample, and consumable inventory to ensure supplies are stocked and organized.
- Adhering strictly to all safety protocols to maintain a safe and professional laboratory environment.
- Hands‑on experience handling chemicals, managing waste disposal, and documenting experimental results (academic experience is great!).
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
- Ability to independently calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot basic laboratory equipment.
- Professional communication skills and a dependable, detail‑oriented work style.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry and documentation.
- A positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and contribute within a team environment.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field is required for the Lab Technician role.
- If the degree is in progress, but not yet completed, that is acceptable.
