OPERATIONS TRAINING INSTRUCTOR / SR OPERATIONS TRAINING INSTRUCTOR
Location:
Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Morris, Illinois
This is a multi-level position that can be filled at either the Operations Training Instructor (OTI) level or the Senior Operations Training Instructor (SOTI) level.
Compensation and Benefits- Operations Training Instructor: $107,000 – $119,000
- Senior Operations Training Instructor: $139,500 – $155,000

Demonstrate mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of plant‑specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities- Drive the Clean Energy Center and personnel performance improvement through training.
- Coordinate and conduct performance‑based operations Reactor Operator (RO)/Non‑Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs in accordance with Constellation’s systematic training model.
- Ensure training programs remain current, incorporating information from INPO SE reports, NERs, NRC bulletins, CEC design changes, and regulatory updates.
- Prepare trainee examinations and conduct evaluations for classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments.
- Provide counseling, evaluate results, and develop individualized training programs.
- Support the CEC and fleet in emergency preparedness, outage support, and special projects.
- Participate in NRC, INPO, and management audits and prepare responses to audit findings.
- Maintain knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills, and techniques.
- Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports.
- Achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of assuming the position.
- Perform other duties as directed, including emergency response, departmental coverage, call‑outs, and support of outage activities.
- High school diploma/GED with 6 years of related experience, OR
- Associate’s degree with 4 years of related experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science with 2 years of related experience.
- Meet or exceed ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 requirements.
- Maintain minimum access or unescorted access and favorable medical examination/tests.
- Previous Equipment Operator with 6 years of related experience, OR
- Associate’s degree with 4 years of nuclear technical background or 6 years of related experience, OR
- Current or previous licensed Reactor Operator or SRO certification with 4 years of related experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of nuclear technical background or 4 years of related experience.
- Current or previous SRO license.
- Meet or exceed ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014 requirements.
- Maintain minimum access or unescorted access and favorable medical examination/tests.
- Experience in commercial nuclear training.
- Knowledge and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT).
