Federal Tax (Corporate)

One of the largest pillars in our Tax practice is Federal Tax. This team specializes in providing corporate tax provision and compliance services to multinational public and private companies, with expertise in ASC 740 accounting for income taxes. Due to our tremendous growth, we’re seeking a Manager to join our team.

The Team

The Federal Tax team is a high‑impact, growth‑focused group dedicated to delivering top‑quality tax advisory and assurance services for complex corporate clients across a wide range of industries.

How You Will Contribute
  • Manage tax provision preparation projects for quarterly and annual reporting for both SEC registrants and private entities
  • Manage U.S. tax compliance projects for multinational companies
  • Assist with tax‑planning for corporate clients
  • Advise clients on tax accounting aspects of complex transactions, including IPO readiness, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, restatements, and post‑bankruptcy fresh start accounting
  • Lead special projects in specific technical areas such as tax basis balance sheets, valuation allowance, accounting for uncertain tax positions, indefinitely reinvested earnings assertion, outside basis differences, and share‑based payments
  • Conduct day‑to‑day management of accounts to ensure delivery of timely and accurate work product
  • Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate Associates and Senior Associates by providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering a team‑based atmosphere
  • Manage workload and deadlines for Associates and Senior Associates, focusing on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the project team
  • Manage client calls to understand critical areas of importance and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations
  • Create deliverables that are concise, complete, and address the elements deemed critical by the client
  • Clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines to multidisciplinary project teams
  • Encourage open expression of ideas and opinions, actively seek opportunities for others to share diverse experiences and perspectives
  • Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses; quick to assume additional responsibility when appropriate
  • Assist with business development, including creating business development resources and proposal materials
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years’ experience with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and corporate tax compliance
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, and combined state tax returns
  • CPA or Licensed Attorney
  • Proven experience leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts, establish credibility and influence clients
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Advanced user of all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel)
  • Experience with One Source Income Tax and One Source Tax Provision preferred
  • Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines
  • High motivation to learn and grow
  • Detail‑oriented and possess strong organizational skills
