Senior Professional Scientific Policy & Intelligence

Responsibilities

• Provide US regulatory intelligence and external engagement, including coordinating scientific experts' interactions with key US trade associations (e.g., CHPA).
• Analyze emerging US scientific, regulatory, and policy developments across assigned categories/portfolios/topics and translate signals into clear, forward-looking insights and recommendations.
• Support oversight and interpretation of US policy developments, assessing business impact and linking US perspectives to broader global implications.
• Conduct trend analysis and landscape mapping; contribute to internal positions, consultation responses, and briefing materials.
• Develop cross-functional advocacy strategies by connecting scientific policy/intelligence insights with Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Medical, Commercial, and Communications.
• Disseminate critical policy information to relevant stakeholders; support organizational readiness.
• Support participation in US industry associations and external policy forums; coordinate internal inputs/outputs to ensure scientifically robust, business-relevant, globally connected positions.
• Provide senior/board-level briefings and translate external developments into implications, options, and recommended actions.
• Contribute to governance forums; help prepare structured outputs and deliver advocacy training.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align on risks/trends and ensure appropriate handover/follow-up; provide analysis, options, and recommendations.

• Degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Regulatory Affairs, or related field; significant experience in regulatory affairs and regulatory intelligence in consumer health.
• Strong medicines knowledge and experience across relevant consumer health regulatory classifications (ideally in a global, matrixed environment).
• Demonstrated US external regulatory monitoring, industry association engagement, regulatory advocacy, or consultation response development.
• Strong understanding of US regulatory frameworks and policy development processes; ability to connect US changes to global policy and portfolio considerations.
• Proven ability to translate intelligence into prioritized, actionable insights.
• Strong scientific and critical judgment; risk-based recommendations balancing regulatory requirements, consumer safety, continuity, policy direction, and portfolio impact.
• Ability to identify/escalate/document emerging risks impacting compliance, supply continuity, product strategy, or reputation.
• Strong communication and senior-level briefing skills.
• Digital/data-driven mindset using tools, dashboards, and data visualization.
• Collaborative leadership style with capability building through coaching and matrix leadership.
