Adjunct Instructor – Organic Chemistry (Part‑Time, Temporary)The Department of Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry invites applications for part‑time, temporary Adjunct Instructor positions in Organic Chemistry. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and placed in a qualified‑candidate pool. Placement does not guarantee an appointment but ensures consideration for future opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teach lecture and laboratory sections of undergraduate Organic Chemistry (CHEM
211 and CHEM
213). Urgent need for CHEM
213 in Spring 2026. - Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and assessments.
- Record and report student data promptly and accurately.
- Support students’ learning goals by focusing on outcomes, offering reasonable accommodations, and holding routine office hours.
- Maintain the academic integrity of the college.
$600 per credit
Qualifications- Master of Science in Chemistry or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Prior teaching experience in a chemistry lecture and laboratory course at the undergraduate level is preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and safety record maintenance.
- Proficiency with technology as an educational tool.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with supervisors, peers, and students.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
Moodle educational platform and online teaching experience preferred.
