• High school diploma
• Highly Qualified status as per the State of New Jersey (associate's degree or higher, completed at least two years of study (60 college credits) at an institution of higher education, and/or has met a rigorous standard of quality through a formal State assessment)
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and school staff
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

• Assist in the monitoring of classroom activities and student learning under the direction of the classroom teacher, principal or other designated personnel.
• Promote the achievement of students’ educational goals and learning objectives by providing supplemental and clerical services to assist the classroom teacher.
• Responsible for prescribed non-instructionally duties, which support classroom operations and student learning with direction from classroom teacher.
• Participate in in-service training as assigned.
• Assist in providing the emotional and physical well‑being of students.
• Support student development of academic, cognitive and functional skills.
• Support implementation of behavior intervention plans as well as appropriate services as described in the IEP.

Salary
:
In accordance with the established TEAM Salary Guide currently ranging from Step 1 - $14,503 to $24,652
