Are you a people person and enjoy working with the public?
The Morristown & Morris Township Library is seeking a friendly, customer service-oriented person to join our creative and dedicated staff as a Library Assistant in the Media Department. The person in this position helps patrons at our Media desk with checking out Library materials, helping patrons on Library public computers, checking in periodicals, reshelving audio-visual materials, packing materials for shipment to other libraries, emptying the Media drop, and other tasks.

New ideas are always welcome and staff in the Media Department also work on projects such as book displays, fliers and other creative tasks. A creative person who can work independently, but also work as a part of a great team here at the Library fits really well in this position.

Our Library is located in the heart of historic Morristown near many cultural and historical attractions and a wide array of dining and nightlife. As a result, the Library receives many visitors, and we have active participation with our residents and local businesses, both in person and virtually.
What is the Library looking for in a candidate? What are the perks for working at the Library?This is a part-time position, 10.5 hours per week that includes every Saturday (to start) and some weekday hours.
The wage is $17.00/hr. and the position includes a pension (DCRP through the State benefits system), some paid holidays and sick time.
