About this positionAssistant Bursar supports the Bursar in handling student accounts related to tuition and fees in collaboration with financial aid and the registrar.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for the collection of delinquent accounts.
- Posting financial aid and loans disbursements.
- Creating and processing of billing statements.
- Maintain various payment systems and options including online payments; monthly Tuition Pay plan and defer tuition program GNP. Post daily cash receipts, preparing daily bank deposits & reconcile daily bank statements.
- Handles Add/Drop activity to calculate refund percentage for dropped classes.
- Assist with tax preparation.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned as necessary to support the Bursar’s Office.
- Account Analysis.
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or any other related field.
- Three years’ experience in accounting practices is required.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Ellucian, Power Campus, Thesis Elements, or other programs is a plus.
- Working knowledge of software applications especially Excel and Office.
- Must have effective time management organization skills, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, make decisions and perform other job related duties as assigned.
