Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech II - OP, Per Diem, Morristown

Job Description

• Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams. Follows established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations. Verifies identity and informs and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient education, cooperation, and safety. Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests. Records all testing information accurately, completely, and timely. Ensures critical results are reported promptly and accurately, following established policy. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicates with physicians, patients, and other center personnel. Maintains pleasant and informative manner. Makes recommendations to supervisor on related duties, policies and procedures.
• Enhances environment of teamwork. Shows motivation, enthusiasm, acceptance of responsibility and personal accountability. Engages in problem solving, seeks help when appropriate, accepts suggestions, mentors others.
• Maintains work area clean and orderly. Cleans patient areas after each use and assists in maintaining lab environment. Notifies supervisor of stocking needs. Takes responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures when appropriate. Cleans and maintains all equipment according to Hospital Infection Control policies.
• Identifies learning needs and responds to department needs; attends in-services, lab and departmental meetings; strives to increase proficiency; suggests efficient techniques.

Echo Sonographer II Includes skills of Sonographer Level 1+ Strain & Pedoff, Basic 3D, Stress Echo

Assist with IAC ASE Member, Attends Echo Conference, Preceptor Complete CVT PACT

Vascular Tech II Vascular Tech. 1+ Venous Insufficiency and/or Arterial Duplex and/or vein mapping +/- radials. Consistently takes initiative to develop professionally;

• Minimum Education:
  
  High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited CVT school with focus on echocardiography (CAAHEP accredited preferred).
• Position
  
  Qualifications:
  
  Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
• Training/Certification:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Skills/
  
  Activities:
  
  Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written skills. Basic proficiency with computer system.
• Echo Sonographer II:
  Registered Sonographer.
• Vascular Tech II: RVT/ RVS.
