Job DescriptionFull Time Night Shift Monitor Tech 7P-7A Responsible for monitoring heart rhythm pattern of patients in the special care unit of a hospital to detect abnormal pattern variances using telemetry equipment.
Responsibilities- Provide accurate telemetry monitoring as ordered by physician. Accurately receive and report patient status to oncoming shift.
- Document telemetry rhythm strips accurately using e‑calipers, including time, PR interval, QRS measurement, QT measurement, ectopy, and baseline rhythm. Maintain statistics and communicate with remote telemetry units per policy.
- Effectively communicate telemetry‑related patient information to the health care team. Report arrhythmias immediately to RN, physicians, and monitor technicians. Provide comprehensive verbal report to oncoming shift.
- Promote a safe unit environment. Adhere to OSHA, Joint Commission, and hospital standards. Perform tasks adhering to Patient Safety Goals, maintain clean work environment, and ensure equipment is safe and functioning.
- Demonstrate professional practice responsibility. Recognize own limitations, adhere to PTO/NPTO policy, report on time, participate in committees, orient new employees, attend staff meetings, and perform job functions in accordance with Atlantic Health Performance Standards.
- Demonstrate local awareness of medical emergency and Code Blue process. Promote a positive team‑work environment and perform other essential duties fundamental to the job.
- HS Diploma.
- Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course required.
- Able to pass telemetry pre‑test.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Current Monitor Tech experience and/or recent clinical experience preferred.
