Position: Certified Medical Assistant I, Full Time, Pediatrics, Morristown

Principal Accountabilities

In addition to traditional CMA responsibilities, this position will primarily support back‑office operations by completing medication prior authorizations, coordinating prescription refill requests, and ensuring timely follow‑through with providers and pharmacies.

  • Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
  • Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
  • Assists with walk‑in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitors environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the certified medical assistant scope practice, incorporating elements of holistic patient‑centered and team‑based care.
  • Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
  • Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  • Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • National Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • National Certification CCMA from NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
  • Precertification agreement must be signed if certification is expired or will be received within 60 days of employment.

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in Health Care services.
